Artist's Comments

In one of my design classes, I was told to take something I liked and try to redesign items for it.

I chose DNAngel, and one of the items I had to create was a DVD. This is what I had come up with, which my teacher actually thought was much better then the original DVD cover I was basing the design from.

I really liked this design, and if I could have, I would have given the creators of the DVD DNAngel this design, just because their own design was THAT BAD!

I claim no credit for any of the pictures in this design, and lay claim to just the design and layout of this item.

This is awesome! When my class made cd designs it was a blast! My teacher had this weird machine that actually printed adn engraved teh designs permanently on the cd it'self :nod: We were amazed... though he was late to class because his car he bought off ebay broke down... agaon XD

This was a remake of the DNAngel CD. If you ever saw the original CD art, it was rather horrible. They chopped off people's eyes, chins and necks either off the edge or by placing it in the central hole.

My CD looks a lot better. Amazed my teacher with it, seen as I brought in my original CD with the remake. The difference was amazing. Who ever created the CD was being lazy.

I kinda wish I had something to engrave and print the images right to the CD. That sounds like fun.

(Hint, the dark gray on the text side is suppose to be Black. For some reason, no matter what I tried, as a PDF if never could get that one thing right.)

You should submit this to the company and tell them "Hey, You screwed up the cover of my fave cd! I fixed it for you hire me!!"

That would be funny, and then I would get to work with the art style that I love so much... but then I probably have to move to Japan and learn Japanese... not such good things there. Though I have always wanted to visit Japan.

Those are my thoughts too. I tried to self theach it but I was too shy to talk back to the computer in my own house.... I think I need to grow a back bone :faint:

I probably could have to some extent. I had to laugh at what one of my teachers said. They made a comment on he wouldn't consider you a designer unless you had X amount of hours of designing under your belt.

Well, I decided to do the math, and I had well over twice that with my high school stuff alone. I didn't say anything, as there is no sense in looking for an argument, but I thought it was funny.

:giggle: yeah, I actually just got my first official design project yesterday!!! A friend at church begged me to join the design team at their new mission so I did. My first task is to make a banner add for the church website. It's all for free, as I do all work for God free but I get experience pints from it XD

If all else fails, it can easily be placed into a portfolio. Everything counts, if it was done for free or not doesn't matter.

I have done a few jobs for free for my family, as well as Church. I always have fun doing it, so it doesn't bother me any.
