Just a study I was doing to help me draw shoes better.
Was just a shoe study, but really ended up being a foot/ankle/lowerleg/shoe study, as they all kinda connect and relate to each other.
Yes, I know. None of the feet have socks on. It wasn't a sock study...
Use this as reference if you please. No copying directly though, and if you use this reference, let me know with a link to the work. I would love to see what I helped create.
Now for some boaring technical stuff, as I describe each shoe and what it is doing in that picture:
Top left: A side shot as the shoe slides on the ground. The leg is at an engle going away from you.
Top right: OUtside view of a shoe. In mid step where the foot isn't touching the ground. No pressure on the sole, which means no bend or creases showing.
Middle Left: The inside section of the shoe in mid step, just like the top right one.
Bottom Right: Front view as the foot is being stepped on. This is at the back of the step, where you shift your weight to the toes of the shoe, creasing the front as it bends with your foot.
Bottom Left: The foot is about to strike the ground heel first. With sandles, the heel drops a little in this case, so it isn't touching the foot in that area right now, but rather dangles from the foot slightly.
most of these shoe designs where referenced off of real life shoes, but had a few artistic touches done to them. I claim the art, not necicarilly the shoe designs.
